Hi! I’m Michele.
I am an entrepreneur and a former opera singer.
When I tell someone I have just met that I am a trained opera singer, I inevitably get asked to send them the pieces of music I most love to listen to—my greatest hits. I enjoy every minute I spend finding those pieces that I think will move them and help them see, feel, and hear the world differently.
While I am 100% confident in my ability to turn anyone into an opera fan by merely singing for them in the car for five minutes, sending them my list runs a close second.
The request to send my list of favorites happened all my life, and every time my list grows—my research yields new gems.
While this is one of the most famous arias of all time, it always make my lists. Luciano Pavarotti, one of the greatest tenors that ever lived, is singing "Che gelida manina", a tenor aria from the first act of Puccini's opera, La bohème.
The aria is sung by Rodolfo to Mimì when they first meet.
I will tell you in two words who I am, what I do, and how I live. May I?
Who am I? I am a poet.
What do I do? I write.
And how do I live?
I live.
So, rather than reserving my finds for just my friends and family, I created Opera Daily—a free newsletter for people who are curious about opera but don’t know where to start. Every Sunday morning, I send out a short email with one piece of music you’ll love.
Would you like to give opera a try but don’t know where to start?
Subscribing is free and easy to do. If you’ve already signed up, please share this with your friends and others you think might be interested. And thank you.
❤️ And if you enjoyed this selection, hit the heart to like it. It helps others find Opera Daily.
I love this first post - can’t wait to receive the next one in my email box - thank you! 🙏🏼🎼
So cool to see Pavarotti from the 60s! Just breathtaking!
