Maria Jeritza was Puccini's favorite TOSCA and sang the posthumous premiere of TURNDOT at The Met. Jeritza also lived, loved, and spent 40 years in Newark NJ. We are trying to do a recital in her memory in 2021. The New York Times noted in their obituary she was a star of Opera's Golden Age in the 20th century. She was an Opera Diva, who attended and supported opera at The Mosque Theatre and Symphony Hall in Newark, NJ. Her appearances would generate instant applause at each performance with her blond hair and blue tinted glasses.

Another perspective on Puccini, Jeritza and us in 2020.
