On Tuesday we asked the Opera Daily community what opera, singer, aria, or art song are you listening to today, to get your mind in the right place? What pieces bring you joy? Today we’re sharing Part 2 of those selections.
Fixed on our post! I have had people misspelling my name all my life (Michelle instead of Michele) and it stinks! But I find comfort in knowing though that it doesn’t stop people from enjoying his extraordinary voice!
Yes, I know. A few years ago, I learned that Queen Victoria banned the Irish language. My surname was changed from Cuinn to Quinn by her too. Not to mention Mickaleen, Mike, Michael, Michelle, Micchelli as well.
😂😂don’t be sorry! Whenever I see someone older and more experienced look at someone more talented and less experienced - it does something to my heart - no denying Juan Diego is a - the - star here 🌟
These selections are wonderful. The first taste I had of opera was in the early 70s in Montreal, hearing Leontyne Price sing Un bel di from Butterfly.....magical. And I love the aria Ebben?...Ne andro lontana from La Wally and sung so beautifully in the French film Diva.
Jon Vickers

It is really sad that that error remains on the web and will probably never be corrected. Editors and fact checkers are verbooten there,
Which one?
Vickers incorrect first name (2011) on the Walkure site.
Juan Diego Florez gave one of the great performances of my lifetime with this Mexican song. Profound thanks to you and Opera Daily !!!

And that look that Domingo gives him around minute 2 melts my heart - this performance - the stuff legends are made of
Domingo at this point made me cringe; sorry.
