She has a real ease, but you know too, that she has put in the hard work and dedication. Knowing when to bow out is a sure sign you have been on top of your game. Great pieces too

Yes - she did the work! And I agree that bowing out is a big sign you’ve made it/top of your game, although I know people in other industries that are addicted to the prestige and power and they don’t leave when they should! :-)

I saw Freni onstage several times. It was amazing how her voice caressed every phrase. But there are some artists who have become great teachers. Take a look at some of Gwyneth Jones’s classes. She doesn’t speak about ephemeral nonsense; she talks about mouth position, tongue position, correct posture, the best way to sing consonants. Her pupils seem to get much better results after just one session.
