Callas and Caballe were both spectacular as NORMA. Cecilia Bartolli recently sang it in Vienna too, to glowing reviews as well. I saw a great NOEMA in Asbury Park with Anton Coppola conducting, and an awful one at Th Met with Rita Hunter in an awful production, since abandoned.

It was Norma that led me to an appreciation of Callas. I won't tell you how many recordings I now have of Norma 🤣
