How many people can attend these performances? Also, is this one of those festivals where you have to buy tickets years in advance?

I read that the Lake stage has a capacity of 6,980. And good question on the tickets. I just tried to buy tickets for this summer for Butterfly and they look available? Not sure what it was like pre-Covid but looks like there is availability for this summer so not too bad?! https://bregenzerfestspiele.com/en/tickets/schedule

Did the Queen of the Night (Lake) sue the Festival ? When the fog or mist move in, it could be a very perilous stage. Are the singers miked ?

Based upon the tone in this tweet is doesn't sound like she sued!

The singers seem to be an afterthought, as the sets dominate everything. Some recent Met intrusions in LUCIA and WOZZECK have made the music seem like background music or nonsense. There was a play The Ride Across Lake Constance at Lincoln Center too.
