Glad to have you back Michelle. The Donnezetti was a great display of her enormous talent and technique. The whole opera with Bergonzi and Taddei is really spectacular. It was really a shame she lost the mastery of that wonderful technique in her later years. A pity for those who only witnessed those productions and not her youthful vibrance

Am afraid Renata steanrolled "Jimmy" Levine at the expense of other better simgers to let her do many name roles like NORMA, at the expense of other better singers. Her reign in the late 1970's and 80's at The Met was not one of glory but recklessness.

Welcome back! I know her from my uncle's records. He was a life-long devotee who attended her performances at the Met. Her voice brings me memories of that dear man.
