This week's Opera Daily features Lake Como, Giuditta Pasta, and composer's Vincenzo Bellini and Gaetano Donizetti
I havenโt posted in a while, I always start my Sunday with this though. I just want you to know how much Iโve enjoyed it over the years has it been? I never even gave Opera a second though until I somehow stumbled across this! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing! Your comment made my day!
Surmising this is not Lake Como in NJ.

When I lived in Milan I hoped to see it, but now I think of Bellini too.
Have several dvd versions Norma and a few Donizetti.
Big interest now is the recently available recordings of the Italian Baroque era of early 1800s, Cavalli, Pergolesi, Cesti, etc.
An absolute goldmine of creativity in that era, literally thousands of operas are still in music score in the European cultural centres.

You have give me something to check out this week! thank you for sharing!
I can elaborate, but i presently have a cold .
Suggest you check out the name Pietro Metastasio.
He is attributed to have been the librettist for literally hundreds of composers in that era, essentially from 1700 to Mozart's very early years.
